NearForm is seeking a skilled Software Engineer (React) to join our team of consultants, working directly with clients on diverse and impactful projects. This role is ideal for those with a solid foundation in modern web development who are eager to expand their expertise, collaborate with clients, and grow within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Professional Experience: 4+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on React and the broader JavaScript ecosystem.
  • JavaScript Proficiency: Strong understanding of JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Testing Methodologies: Knowledge of front-end testing methodologies and libraries, such as Jest, Enzyme, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Build Tools & Version Control: Experience with front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Parcel), package managers (npm, yarn), and Git version control.
  • API Familiarity: Familiarity with RESTful APIs and a basic understanding of GraphQL.
  • Design Collaboration: Experience working with design teams to translate UI/UX designs into responsive, user-friendly web interfaces.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentorship & Learning: Demonstrated patience and a desire to learn from others as well as mentor junior developers.
  • Client-Facing Passion: A passion for working in a client-facing role, promoting code health, and ensuring a smooth developer experience while balancing client goals and timelines.

  • Client Collaboration: Partner closely with clients to understand their needs, translate technical details, and deliver tailored solutions that meet their goals.
  • Technical Implementation: Leverage your React expertise and JavaScript knowledge to build high-quality applications and features, ensuring code quality and maintainability.
  • Design Integration: Work collaboratively with design teams to implement UI/UX designs, ensuring a seamless and visually appealing user experience.
  • Problem Solving: Analyze technical challenges, troubleshoot issues, and develop creative solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Foster strong relationships with clients and collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Continuous Learning: Embrace opportunities to expand your skill set through exposure to diverse projects, technologies, and mentorship from experienced colleagues.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience working directly with clients in a consulting or agency environment.
  • Contributions to open-source projects.
  • Familiarity with Node.js frameworks like Express.
  • Basic experience with persistence layers (MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with Next.js and headless CMS platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge and extensive use of TypeScript.
