Who is NCX?

  • A marketplace to help landowners participate in the nature-positive economy
  • A venture-backed company with top investors including Marc Benioff, Union Square Ventures, and Microsoft's Climate Innovation Fund
  • Creating climate impact across the US - ten million acres and counting

Our Goal: Create a Massive Positive Environmental Global Impact

We're helping landowners participate in emerging markets for carbon, biodiversity, and other types of natural capital.

We're building a platform to fully and fairly value every acre of forest in the world.

As an early hire at NCX, you will shape our growth, culture, and product as we build the foundation of the nature-positive economy.

What can you do with a piece of land? NCX Data Engineers can tell you!

Data Engineers at NCX are responsible for developing a distinct profile of every acre of land across millions of properties in the contiguous United States. We achieve this with a variety of remote satellite imagery and open-source tools and data to come up with the key characteristics of any given parcel of land. With this knowledge, we can identify the most appropriate programs on the NCX marketplace for every landowner to find new revenue streams for their land while taking nature-positive action like tree planting or harvest deferral.

On our team you'll use Python (FastAPI, Celery), Postgres (PostGIS), eoAPI, AWS (including CDK, Lambda, Batch, Elasticache), GDAL, and more. And you'll apply your expertise to help every other team at NCX, from Marketing and Product to Business Development and Platform Engineering.

Candidates who will succeed in this role:

  • are proficient in Python
  • have advanced knowledge of geospatial concepts, terms, libraries, and techniques (PostGIS, GDAL, and shapely should already be well-loved friends)
  • have 2-5 years of experience working on geospatial problems
  • embrace the challenges of an early stage startup: are able to focus on the big picture, and are nimble in adapting to a dynamic natural capital industry

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
