Job Summary

The Plant Engineering Manager is responsible for directing the smooth operation of the plant. They plan and coordinate activities concerned with the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in our state of the art vertically integrated cannabis facility.

Job Duties

  • Administer and resolve all technical maintenance issues.
  • Maintain an efficient and safe working environment for all employees.
  • Ensure compliance to all state and federal regulations and design appropriate plant maintenance programs to reduce all downtime.
  • Direct responsibility for managing all construction and capital improvement projects.
  • Prepare and manage large budgets including Construction Projects, Facility Maintenance Budgets, Capital Expenditure projects and Overhead Budgets.
  • Perform regular audit on all safety control programs.
  • Design efficient training programs.
  • Responsible for installation and maintenance of all machines and tools.
  • Collaborate with various departments to maintain mechanical integrity of all plant programs.
  • Administer all activities and assist in manufacturing of all new products and recommend improvements to existing products.
  • Design all preventive maintenance programs in coordination with maintenance and engineering staff.
  • Evaluate all production activities and prepare reports for all activities and inspect all associated plant machines and equipment.
  • Analyze all equipment requirements and assist in requisition of all tools and equipment.
  • Resolve all maintenance issues and recommend improvements to same if required.
  • Maintain and review everyday logs and assist to resolve all issues and provide support to all engineering activities and participate in all facilities maintenance meetings.
  • Review and recommend improvements of all SOP procedures and perform troubleshooting on all plant activities and resolve all issues and assist facilities manager to implement all changes.
  • Validate all systems and prepare required documents.
  • Provide an efficient interface with all automation and validation processes and provide training to all engineers and mechanics.
  • Provide an efficient interface with outside engineers, experts, agencies, and consultants to evaluate all upcoming capital projects and analyze and obtain required feedback for all equipment and layouts.
  • Create and manage MOC's and PSSR's within the plant PSM areas for all new installations and process changes.
  • Manage facility layout designs using AutoCAD.
  • Prepare and review project drawings/specifications to ensure compliance with OSHA environmental/quality standards, and federal, state and local environmental laws.
  • Develop PSM program where none are present.

Working Environment

This job operates in an industrial GMP manufacturing environment. The working environment may include external exposure to outdoor environmental conditions in order to perform essential job duties. The employee must be able to walk throughout the campus to perform inspections and maintenance. Duties will also include the requirement of kneeling, sitting, crawling and maneuvering around operational equipment when necessary  

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use ladders up to 16 feet in height. The employee is also required to operate automated lifts, forklifts and other light-duty industrial equipment with appropriate training. The employee will be required to bend, stoop, crawl, and maneuver around equipment or physical obstacles.  The employee will be required to don personal protective equipment, including clean room garments such as scrubs.
