The Opportunity:

Reporting to the SVP, Retail Operations the Regional Retail Director, Alberta will play a key role in the design and implementation of the expansion strategy into the recreational cannabis business. In partnership with senior management, they will define the long- and short-term strategy for the expansion with a primary focus on the planning and opening of retail sites within their assigned region. They will plan, control and direct the activities of the regional operating sites with full profit and loss responsibility and provide guidance and support to their regional leadership team to ensure alignment with the culture and goals of the organization.

This role works closely across several teams. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Champion the culture of NAC and a positive work environment
  • Brings an entrepreneurial approach to the role
  • Plans and ensure appropriate staffing levels for current and projected needs. 
  • Identify and attract local retail rock stars, by scouting, head hunting and cold calling
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate all activities related to the opening of new retail sites as per the expansion strategy within timeline and budget. Report on progress periodically.
  • Merchandising and grass roots store marketing
  • Determine regional goals (sales, inventory, operating costs, project, etc.) to ensure alignment with and meeting or exceeding organizational goals
  • Monitor, assess and evaluate site and regional performance against delegated goals. Coordinate periodic operational reviews with each site within assigned region
  • Lead and coach store leadership team on appropriate action plans and activities to meet operational, financial goals and team engagement
  • Report to SVP and senior leadership team on performance and corrective actions periodically
  • Represent regional concerns and issues to senior leadership, across functions and throughout organization
  • Ensure consistent and high-quality brand image throughout all regional sites and positive customer experience
  • Other duties and/or special projects as assigned
