National Access Cannabis (NAC) is a unique health care service provider that specializes in prescribing medical cannabis and provides members with ongoing education and care. We work alongside Health Canada and licensed producers to help qualifying patients gain access to their license, as well as provide resources and support on using medical cannabis in their day-to-day routine. NAC has developed a strong history of effectively delivering secure, safe, and responsible access to legal cannabis for thousands of Canadian patients and our business model will be effectively replicated for the recreational cannabis retail space with a new brand, Meta Cannabis Supply Co (META™). 

 

Position Overview

The Accounting Coordinator will support financial services and reporting for the organization and assist the team with their daily accounting operations and special projects.

 

Duties and responsibilities 

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, primary responsibilities of the Accounting Coordinator are to:

  • Champion the culture of NAC and a positive work environment.
  • Ensure accurate information entry for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Daily Cash Deposits.
  • Receive, verify, and process expense reports, ensuring compliance with Company policies.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and journal entries.
  • Provide customer service to internal NAC team, responding to queries regarding areas of responsibility.
  • Generate ongoing and ad-hoc reporting
  • Administrative back-up as needed, including data-entry, cheque runs, and maintaining records.
  • Other related duties as required

 

Qualifications 

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated training and expertise in accounting software (including, but not limited to, QuickBooks).
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and reporting standards.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Enthusiastic & possess a strong desire to have a positive impact on the future of NAC.
  • Demonstrated initiative and prioritization skills.

 

Working Environment & Travel

  • Office working environment

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years experience in accounting, supporting A/P, A/R, and GL.
  • Experience in retail industry preferred, knowledge of an asset.
