Role: Digital Marketing Manager

National Access Cannabis (NAC) is a unique health care service provider that specializes in prescribing medical cannabis and provides members with ongoing education and care. We work alongside Health Canada and licensed producers to help qualifying patients gain access to their license, as well as provide resources and support on using medical cannabis in their day-to-day routine. NAC has developed a strong history of effectively delivering secure, safe, and responsible access to legal cannabis for thousands of Canadian patients and our business model will be effectively replicated for the recreational cannabis retail space with a new brand, META™.

Join a growing company and expanding industry! NAC is currently looking to hire an Digital Marketing Manager. Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing and operating from Toronto/Greater Toronto Area, the Digital Marketing Manager will play a key role in the design and implementation of our expansion strategy into the recreational cannabis business in Canada. 

In partnership with senior management, you will define the long- and short-term strategy for the expansion with a primary focus on the planning and execution of digital marketing. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Champion the culture of NAC and ensure a positive work environment, with a start-up mentality
  • Be a key player on the marketing team, contributing to digital marketing + more
  • Contribute to NAC’s overall marketing, branding, communications and merchandising strategy
  • Implement various integrated digital marketing elements of our retail business
  • Determine digital marketing objectives and strategies to ensure organizational goals are met or exceeded
  • Plan and execute all activities related to integrated digital marketing on time and on budget, per the expansion strategy, including:
    • Web - overseeing development for the corporate, recreational online sites
    • Planning and implementing digital paid media campaigns
    • Planning and implementing digital creative assets
    • Experience of using Kentico and WordPress (or similar) web management platforms
    • Social Media - overseeing, planning and execution of the NAC social media network. Including content planning, development and execution
    • Database & Newsletters - Building and managing the e-newsletter database programs for recreational consumers
    • Content & Creative Asset Management - Planning all content and design for our recreational digital channels, working with graphic designers, videographers and photographers
    • SEO, Data Planning & Tracking, and Marketing Implementation - work with internal team and agencies to plan, implement and manage social, search and mobile strategies that complement and enhance marketing plans
    • E-Commerce – Support and collaborate on the planning and implementation of e-commerce into digital platforms 
  • Collaborate with the retail marketing team, merchandising team, and regional managers, to ensure national campaigns are fully integrated
  • Manage external agencies and vendors to support marketing and digital portfolios
  • Develop relationships and programs with key partners (Licensed Producers, brands and suppliers)
  • Provide inputs and insights into the organization’s expansion strategy, representing the digital marketing perspective
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report on progress periodically
  • Monitor, assess and evaluate digital marketing against goals
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial and municipal regulations, from a digital and online perspective
  • Perform other functions pertinent to the role as requested by the VP of Marketing

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 7 years progressive leadership experience in digital marketing
  • University degree in marketing, digital or a related field
  • Extensive experience in digital marketing, branding, and social media
  • Knowledge of the Cannabis industry (or similar regulated industry) is an asset
  • Experienced rapid growth in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent and engaging communication and negotiation skills
  • Advanced project management, budgeting and forecasting skills with laser precision and attention to detail
  • Outstanding people management skills, strategic leadership abilities, and ability to develop and grow talent
  • Excellent judgment in decision-making, problem solving, and ability to clearly explain your perspective to others
  • Start-up mentality = ability to enjoy, absorb and tolerate a high degree of ambiguity, while working in a highly dynamic, ever-changing, fun environment
  • Passionate and enthusiastic to be part of the foundational team that will drive the new Cannabis industry
