POSITION SUMMARY:
The Facilities Specialist is responsible for management of facility infrastructure, building mechanical and process systems operation. Supply vendor relations, laboratory environment oversight, contract janitorial services, and maintenance repair activities are also part of daily activity. Interfaces with and supports key functional areas at Natera including Operations, R&D, EH&S and general office administration.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with space planning, office reconfiguration, and workstation/office task efficiency.
- Support productivity such as overseeing regulated waste discharge from site, asset management, lab/office reconfiguration, instrument fit-up, ergonomic assessments, cleaning and repairs.
- Interface with Property Management on building related service, maintenance, and repair.
- Assist PM with access coordination of contracted trades persons performing work.
- Direct oversight may include routine maintenance of safety equipment including weekly safety/eyewash shower testing, monthly handheld fire extinguisher inspection, annual biosafety cabinet and fume hood certifications and weekly hazardous and bio-medical waste management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At minimum 3 years of work experience in Facilities Management or related field BS or equivalent required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Good verbal and written skills to articulate details and communicate effectively across departments. Ability to respond to calls and emergencies afterhours.
- Proficiency with MS Office/Google Docs required.
- Technical education and/or hands-on experience in the following are required: HVAC-R design and operation, electrical power distribution, process water (RO/DI) and compressed air systems (CDA).
- Experience developing and managing maintenance procedures (SOP’s), predictive-preventative maintenance service agreements and routine work requires coordination with outside vendors such as electricians, plumbers, HVAC mechanics.
