Position Title: Sr Software Engineer, DevOps
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer with a strong focus on Kafka infrastructure, AWS management, and automation frameworks for testing. If you excel in solving complex problems collaboratively, take ownership of your work, and have a proven track record of implementing resilient and scalable solutions, we want to hear from you. Strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a desire to work in a dynamic environment are essential. You will collaborate with our Engineering Team, Product Managers, and Designers to optimize and manage our AWS infrastructure, with a primary focus on Kafka, Kafka Schema Registry, CI/CD pipelines, and testing automation.
Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Kafka infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

Manage and optimize Kafka Schema Registry and related services to support seamless data streaming and integration.

Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab to automate and streamline software delivery processes.

Develop and maintain automation frameworks for testing, ensuring robust test coverage and integration with CI/CD pipelines.

Provide testing support across the development lifecycle, ensuring quality and performance standards are met.

Collaborate with end-users and product managers to iterate on requirements and deliverables.

Optimize architecture and infrastructure for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness on the AWS cloud platform.

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and reliability.

Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in DevOps, automation, and testing, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to manage AWS resources.
Qualifications:
-
5+ years of experience in DevOps or related roles with a strong focus on Kafka, AWS, and automation frameworks for testing.

Proficiency in managing Kafka infrastructure, including Kafka brokers, Zookeeper, and Schema Registry.

Experience in creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or similar tools.

Strong understanding of AWS services and infrastructure management.

Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.

3+ years of experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar for scripting, automation, and building tools.

Experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks for testing, including integration with CI/CD pipelines.

Quality assurance mindset with a focus on automation, testing, and monitoring.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Nice to Have:

Experience building or managing a custom Kafka-based messaging system.

Experience with advanced Kafka features, such as Kafka Streams and Kafka Connect.
