NanoString Technologies is seeking a Research Scientist to join our Research and Development group. In this role, you will work to expand and enhance our digital spatial profiling (GeoMx) protein assays. You will develop novel protein assays with a focus on new signal detection strategies including Next Gen Sequencing readout and data analysis. The work is highly interdisciplinary and will involve working with biologists, engineers, and bioinformaticians. The applicant will be expected to have strong verbal and written communication skills and will be expected to work as part of team while executing experiments independently.
Perform experiments (~70% benchwork) and analyze data with minimal supervision
Present findings to internal and external stakeholders including NSTG senior leadership
Develop new protein assays and applications for GeoMx digital spatial profiling platform
Explore molecular biology approaches for optimizing protein assay performance on GeoMx platform
Analyze data and develop methods for GeoMx protein assays
Develop analytical methods for comparing GeoMx RNA and DNA data
Interact with various internal teams (e.g. marketing, sales, product development) in a cross-functional manner
3+ years of work experience, preferably in industry
Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related field
Proven track record of innovation through peer reviewed publications
Experience with NGS library preparation and data analysis
Experience with statistical computing and graphics languages (e.g. R or equivalent)
Experience with Immunohistochemistry and multiplexed protein microscopy techniques
