At this time, most candidates should expect to work in-person 2-3 days a week. Nabr is a strong fit for candidates who are eager to jump into a high-growth tech startup, who are interested in design and passionate about improving quality of life in cities, particularly with regard to sustainability and affordability.
About the role
Nabr is looking for two interns as part of the interiors team.
One internship is more research-focused and will report to Kate Scott, working closely with others on a diverse set of projects including…
- Research on residential products with a sustainability and wellness focus
- Studies on kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor living features to be offered by Nabr
- Support in developing a user experience database, aggregating all ideas, pricing and vendor information
- Occasional design studies of how key features can be integrated into user offering
- 3D modeling skills are a plus, but not required
The second internship is focused on interior design and will work report to Sharmila Chaudhuri, working closely with others on the interiors team to advance the following:
- Assisting with the brand vision for the interiors thru imagery and material boards
- Preparing presentation decks
- Finishes, fixture and material sourcing
- Research on furniture brands and furnishings as future partners of Nabr
- Creating the materials library in our new office space
This role will have a hybrid-work structure with an average week breaking down to two days in person and three days remote (though you could always opt for more time in-person).
Both opportunities are paid internships.
Ideally you will have...
- Subject matter expertise
- You are currently studying architecture or interior design and have a keen interest in residential design. You are preferably in grad school, but we are open to rising seniors as well.
- You are a great researcher and analytical thinker with interest in user experience in a residential setting
- You understand that thoughtful materials impact the way we live and are committed to a more sustainable approach to living
- A can-do attitude—no task is too big or too small, especially in Nabr’s early days
- Comfort working independently
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
