The role in a nutshell
As a Senior Insight Analyst at UNiDAYS, your responsibility is to foster high-quality decision-making through data. You will rely on your expertise to choose the right analytical tools to address the questions while promoting a test-and-learn approach among your stakeholders
You’ll feel at ease collaborating across various functions, managing requests and insight projects. These projects will focus on actionable recommendations for stakeholders, whether you are operating at a tactical or strategic level.
Day to day responsibilities
Delivery Action and Impact from your Insight:
- From Brief to delivery, you will own and lead your analytical deliverables that derive actionable insight that supports business performance
- Deliver insight with a focus on driving commercial value or marketing outcomes supporting both tactical and strategic decision-making
- Manage clear stakeholder communications throughout the insight project lifecycle ensuring you drive impact from the insight and recommendations you deliver through strong stakeholder relationships.
- Collaborate with other analysts in the department to both improve the outcomes of your own deliverables and support those of others
- Be an ambassador for the team - raise the profile of the team through showcasing insight work across the business (ie. through ad-hoc training, lunch and learns)
Using the right tools for the job and supporting others learning them:
- Ensure the technical delivery across projects is appropriate/fit for purpose
- Making considered choices on leaning on previously learned skills and analytical techniques or learning new methods where needed to meet the deliverable or project goal
- Crafting communication of your insight and recommendations to fit the audience's needs to maximise impact through adjusting your communication and presentation style
- Support the development of best practices around statistics, coding, visualisation, storytelling, QA, project delivery
- Adhere to Data Governance guidelines, making sure we leverage and share the right data at the right times
What we need from you
- Significant prior experience in an insight or marketing/commercial science role with demonstrable examples of working from insight brief to deliverable outcomes consistently
- An inquisitive nature to dig into problems & opportunities to deliver insight and a growth mindset which enables you to adapt your skill set to the needs of the business
- At least 2 years experience using statistical methods to answer complex questions or providing greater depth of insight to simple questions, including hypothesis generation and A/B testing and time series methods e.g. forecasting, ARIMA, causal inference
- Comfortable with using a range of different data sets as part of analysis including data warehouse platforms or unstructured data sets Desirable but not essential: experience of event / click stream data from mobile apps
- Experience with data visualisation and compiling insight presentation decks to tell stories with data and drive change
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets and visualisation tools Desirable but not essential: Experience with dashboarding tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
- Experience with using Python to manipulate data and as a tool as for analysis (for example using Pandas) Desirable but not essential: Experience using cloud platforms such as GIT, SageMaker or Data Bricks
KNOWLEDGE: What You know
Academic Qualifications: Degree in numerate/statistical subject, or equivalent experience in a related field
Technical Qualifications: No formal required however qualifications around Python, R, SQL, Statistics, Data Visualisation are desirable
