*this role is open to remote working within the UK. Successful candidates will be required to travel to their closest UNiDAYS campus (London or Nottingham) on occasion.

The role in a nutshell

The Localisation Executive is a key part of the Creative Services team, responsible for ensuring the very best quality translation/transcreation and cultural relevance of UNiDAYS global sites/markets. As well as ensuring daily requests are processed and delivered accurately and to SLA, in partnership with our translation agency, the Localisation Executive uses their language skills and cultural expertise to educate the UNiDAYS business and facilitate the creation of messaging that resonates and excites the in-region student demographics. 

Excellent attention to detail as well as being extremely self-motivated, you will have a results-driven and proactive attitude, as well as an organised outlook with the ability to understand the wider-context of your workload and can prioritise with ease.

Day to day responsibilities 

  • Deliver translation, transcreation and localisation services across multiple channels, business teams and markets
  • Research for and review creative across multiple regions reporting back any potential cultural considerations and localisation requirements 
  • Manage the day-to-day translation/transcreation process end-to-end, from briefing the agency, feedback and implementing with the copy team and designers
  • Apply cultural and language expertise to prepare comms and campaigns for market, working and writing in-language where required
  • Assess transcreation options provided by agency linguists, choosing based on the the resonance in-market and consistency across languages
  • Work in daily conjunction with our external translation agency to facilitate and feed back on transcreation projects, maintaining and increasing the quality of the transcreation outputs 
  • Use linguistic knowledge to proofread and adapt in-language communications
  • Contribute to research and cultural insights for the business’ foreign markets, assuring we are always ahead of the curve
  • Support on linguistic reviews with internal natives and external agencies for inconsistencies, localisation issues and ongoing optimisation across multiple channels
  • Optimise the translation briefing and delivery processes with the agency, finding efficiencies and opportunities to streamline and make smoother
  • Maintain the UNiDAYS translation memory and foreign-language brand messaging bank 
  • You will evaluate and measure your own performance and seek feedback for continuous improvement. You also commit to regular check-ins with your line manager and to be proactive in completing your quarterly, Mid-Year and End of Year reviews to ensure your manager has enough time to complete before the deadline.

What we need from you

  • Experience working with digital platforms
  • Knowledge of translation/transcreation and the processes/skills involved
  • Fluency in German, knowledge of other foreign languages is a plus
  • Understanding of cultural and linguistic nuances across EMEA
  • Some experience of the creative process, contributing to ideation and creative campaign
