The role in a nutshell

UNiDAYS, the world’s leading Student Affinity Network, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a critical part in expanding our client base and driving business growth by connecting global brands with the student demographic.

As a BDM at UNiDAYS, you will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities through research, networking, and outreach. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with both prospective clients, understanding their needs and presenting tailored solutions that showcase the benefits of partnering with UNiDAYS. Creating and delivering compelling sales presentations and proposals will be key to your success, positioning UNiDAYS as the premier partner for student engagement and brand affinity.

Collaboration is essential, and you will work closely with Business Development Directors and Category Leads to strategise and implement effective outreach and sales campaigns. Staying updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions will help you identify potential opportunities and threats, ensuring UNiDAYS remains at the forefront of the market. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all sales activities and client interactions in our CRM system and tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.

Day to day responsibilities 

  • Reporting directly into the Global head of New Business- will be an individual contributor and accountable for driving partner acquisition and high value long-term partnerships globally.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through effective research, networking, and outreach efforts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, understanding their needs and presenting tailored solutions.
  • Create and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals that highlight the benefits of partnering with UNiDAYS.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities and potential threats.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and client interactions in our CRM system.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.
  • Champion commercial challenges, driving innovations and solutions within the business and it’s partners 
  • Act as key liaison with business stakeholders in respect to Commercial activities 
  • Ensure a strong feedback loop from the market back into the business to input on the product roadmap and overall business strategy
  • This role will require your resilience, proactive approach and exceptional communication. You have the energy and motivation to lead in a dynamic and changing environment.

What we need from you

  • This role is for a very ambitious, dynamic and driven individual who has experience in SaaS sales, consulting, and marketing/media, with a proven track record of solution focused selling. 
  • Experience with partner/agency/affiliate management, business development and negotiations.
  • Someone who can grow the partner base, has experience with partner/agency/affiliate management, business development and negotiations.
  • A deep understanding of the e-commerce industry with a focus on the tools and technologies that enable ad serving, insights/surveying, philanthropic marketing, and retail/in-store experience will help you succeed here at UNiDAYS.
  • Team players are essential, as you will collaborate cross functionally and be supported by the broader Commercial team to deliver the most crucial commercial partnerships at UNiDAYS globally.
  • Experience selling to C-levels and VP’s that hold brand and advertising budgets will be beneficial as our  New Business Director.
