Roles & Responsibilities
Role:
We are looking for a senior category manager to manage the entire category comprising of varied
brands in a portfolio & take full ownership of it.
Role includes planning selection and inventory relevant for Myntra from across brands, devising
pricing and promotion along with relevant teams across Myntra to deliver the topline and bottom line
expected for the portfolio
Manage and maintain relationships with vendors and brands
This is a high-impact role and needs a candidate with a self-starter mindset, creative problem solving
and proven data analysis skills.
The goal is to increase sale and profitability of the assigned business to drive sustainable growths
Responsibilities:
Category management: Actively pursue category management through vendor management,
pricing, inventory management and sale optimization for the category and thereby for a group of
products/brands falling under the assigned category
Business strategy:
Develop the business model: Go deep, understand where opportunities are and create a viable
business model to service the opportunities
Know the market: Stay on top of trends in an ever-changing landscape, find opportunities and
prioritize based on size, internal capabilities, etc
Know the customer: Understand connected customer behavior, develop new customer insights
Know the competition: Understand on-line and off-line players. React as and when necessary in
an appropriate manner
Influence the leadership: Convert strategies into action by liaising with cross-functional
leadership and drive the changes required
Think big - unlock value for consumers, Myntra and partners
Brand growth: Scaling the brands and the category on the platform with continuous work across
selection, catalog, marketing etc
P&L management: Getting involved with commercial closures to work towards a P&L view of the
business and the category
Relationship management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors.
Senior Manager – Category Management
Demand Understanding: Liaise with pricing and marketing teams to determine competitive pricing
and promotional activities for a product category.
Planning & BD:
o Manage inventory levels to maximize sales, procuring additional stock, and getting
rid of excess or unwanted inventory.
o Help onboard new vendors/brands - business development is
a must.
Team management: To lead a team of 4-5 individuals, define clear visions, goals and KPIs for them
to excel & create a culture of high performance & well defined structure.
Qualifications & Experience
MBA from Tier-1/2 B-School with 5-6 years of relevant experience in category management (footwear category)
Exceptional analytical & problem solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to make data
backed decisions
Self-directed focus and ability to prioritize within an ambiguous environment
Ability to execute and follow through on high-quality output, with limited oversight
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence/rally/align them towards a common
org/business goal
Strong verbal & written communication skills
Strong Microsoft excel & powerpoint presentation skills.
Ability to lead a team of 4-5 individuals & mentor them for excellence; develop strong team
ethos.
