As a Food Data Curator, your job will be to make it easier for our members to find and log food. You’ll improve our database by researching, correcting, and categorizing food data. This position is critical to our team and our users to create the best experience possible. In addition, you will support our marketing team as an expert reviewer of our editorial content and contribute to marketing projects. In this position, you will report to the Sr. Lead Nutrition Scientist as a part of the Nutrition Science Team under the Head of Nutrition.

This contract will be valid through the end of 2025 with a possibility of extension.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Verify food data for accuracy and completeness
  • Categorize and tag foods within our food taxonomy system
  • Support ongoing management of food data in our database
  • Serve as an expert reviewer for our editorial content
  • Assist with product and marketing content development, including but not limited to supporting social media content development, recipe creation and nutrition analysis
  • Improve the process of food curation by providing feedback

Qualifications to be successful in this role: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nutrition, Food Science, or related field
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) required
  • Technology. At least 1 year of experience working with nutrition analysis software and expertise in navigating verified food data systems like FoodData Central
  • Culinary Knowledge. Understanding of food preparation/cooking in addition to experience with recipe creation and nutrition analysis
  • Nutrition Therapy. Experience with 1:1 nutrition counseling, preferred
  • Communication. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to provide constructive feedback, problem solve, and improve systems and processes
  • Connectivity and Work Environment. You will need access to reliable internet and a comfortable place to work in a remote environment.
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong interest in helping millions of people achieve their health and fitness goals

 

This position pays $33.00 per hour
