The MyFitnessPal team is seeking a Sr. Lifecycle Marketing Manager responsible for achieving our growth goals for company KPIs on engagement and activation. We are looking for an experienced individual to develop and implement onboarding, engagement, and activation campaigns targeting our global free app users. You will build and execute multi-channel onboarding, engagement, and activation campaigns and experiences, ensuring effective execution across various surfaces including email, push, inbox notifications, content cards, and in-app messaging to unlock business value and growth. This high-impact role will be at the forefront of the Lifecycle Marketing team, developing and refining our app user strategies and ensuring they align with company objectives and metrics. This role is ideal for a data-driven marketer with a passion for optimizing the customer journey and enhancing user engagement. You will have the opportunity to partner closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Creative, Engineering, Analytics, Brand, Product Marketing, and Content teams to develop and execute great campaigns.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Lead the development and optimization of the multi-channel onboarding and user activation journey. Oversee the day-to-day operations of these initiatives, ensuring timely execution, optimal performance, and alignment with broader business objectives
  • Leverage data to provide actionable insights and continuously improve our marketing strategies and customer engagement efforts
  • Develop and execute targeted lifecycle marketing campaigns across various Braze-powered channels
  • Develop reporting processes for a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadence for your optimizations, as well as communication with the broader organization including the executive leadership team
  • Analyze customer data to identify trends, segmentation opportunities, and areas for improvement in the customer journey, especially in global markets
  • Collaborate with Creative, Product, Engineering, Analytics, Brand, Product Marketing, and Content teams to align lifecycle marketing efforts with broader business goals and product roadmaps
  • Manage and optimize marketing automation workflows to ensure timely and relevant communications with users

Qualifications to be successful in this role: 

  • 8-10 years of experience in lifecycle marketing, customer activation, and engagement. Mobile app lifecycle experience is a must
  • Deep knowledge of and hands-on experience with CRM/marketing automation tools (e.g., Braze, Klayvio, Salesforce, Iterable). Experience with Braze is a must
  • Proven experience in leveraging lifecycle marketing and experimentation to meet business objectives
  • Proven experience in advanced segmentation and personalization of campaigns across multiple channels, with a focus on driving user engagement
  • Technical email knowledge (understanding of webhooks, APIs, liquid logic, ETLs)
  • Experience working cross-functionally to ensure campaign requirements and deadlines are met, while also delivering an optimal customer experience
  • Developed creative briefs and provided constructive feedback on creative work
  • Effective storyteller, able to communicate results and learnings of your campaigns across all levels of the organization (from ELT to engineering)
  • Experience and understanding of reporting platforms such as Amplitude, Looker, Tableau, and Google Analytics
  • Experience driving experimentation roadmaps to continuously optimize and improve campaigns
  • Self-starter; ability to drive both strategic and tactical workstreams forward with minimal oversight
  • Intermediate knowledge of editing and troubleshooting HTML and CSS
  • Experience with subscription app marketing is a plus

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from $130,000 - $180,000. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
