We collaborate and work closely with other designers, copywriters, product managers, developers, marketers and project managers to envision, design and prototype new growth products, features and initiatives. We are looking for a Sr. Creative Director who can help us shape the future of the MyFitnessPal brand and product experience. You will lead our team of product and marketing creatives and drive MyFitnessPal’s look, feel, and tone across all consumer touchpoints. You will be instrumental in defining the vision for our product by leading the creative strategy, brand narrative, digital and social media creative, brand experience, art direction, and copy messaging to create meaning, not just content, for our audience. You will have a blend of creative vision and business sense, with the ability to challenge the status quo and extract the uniqueness of MyFitnessPal. You will report directly to the SVP, Product and also work very closely with the CMO. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Executive Leadership
    • Provide executive leadership in design on a global scale
    • Lead a cross-functional team of design managers (growth, marketing, CX), graphic designers, copywriters, and social media experts
    • Coach and advocate for your team - inspiring and elevating them to their highest potential
    • Refine and manage creative process from concept to completion
    • Ensure consistent and brand-right creative concepts and executions with an accurate reflection of brand values, purpose, and vision
  • Product & Experience Design
    • Manage design delivery for product features and new product development
    • Target areas of opportunity for innovation and build strategy to support MFP brand evolution
    • Lead design sprints and workshops and drive bold, innovative thinking
  • Brand Creative
    • Build, lead, and review work of the creative team in the production of digital and analog marketing collateral (Email, Blog, Organic, Social, Paid Social, Homepage, Direct Mail, CTV)
    • Work with internal and external strategic creative partners to create expressions that generate brand awareness, customer engagement, and ultimately product conversion
    • Manage content strategy for small-scale projects, seasonal campaigns, and long-term brand health harnessing strategy, digital and brand design, compelling content, and technology
    • Be a hands-on designer when required

Qualifications to be successful in this role: 

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in User Experience Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Fine Art, or a related discipline
  • 12+ years of experience to include managing an experienced-level team of digital product designers, with proven success collaborating with engineers, researchers, product owners to ship products, and marketers to take products to market
  • UX/Vis Design experience must include an established, heavily trafficked, consumer facing application with preference given to those with both app-based mobile design (iOS and Android) and web
  • Fluency in the human-centered design process from research to ideation, prototyping, and implementation
  • Skilled with Figma, Adobe CS, and expert at adapting to a variety of software
  • Passion for social media, particularly expressing concepts in video, and experience providing best practice guidance across all major platforms including Instagram and TikTok
  • Experience concepting, designing and art directing campaigns across marketing channels and digital media, with a focus on video/motion and still photography
  • Experience working within diverse, dynamic, cross-functional teams
  • You love working with others and don't mind trial and error
