Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced project leader to fill the role of Senior Project Manager within the MycoWorks Engineering Team. This role will report to the Plant Engineering Director and will be based in Union, South Carolina, the site of our future state-of-the-art Fine Mycelium manufacturing facility. This is a key leadership role within the plant engineering team and will work collaboratively with design, construction, and commissioning resources to deliver the startup of MycoWorks’ newest production site. A strong track record of leading complex projects, managing challenging schedules, controlling large capital budgets, and installing / commissioning manufacturing equipment are crucial for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Manage challenging capex projects to design, build, and commission new production sites and rapidly expand manufacturing operations for the company.
- Guide project teams through the creation of robust critical path schedules, detailed capital spending budgets, and comprehensive risk mitigation plans. Lead by example with acute attention to detail to proactively identify and prevent potential schedule delays and cost overruns throughout the project.
- Manage relations / expectations with key third-party vendors including design firms, equipment suppliers, and construction contractors to ensure the successful delivery of project goals.
- Build expertise in the MycoWay engineering work process and coach project teams on engineering deliverables and best practices across the project lifecycle from initial charter through final closeout.
- Drive personal accountability and high performance within the project team with strong project leadership and clear direction setting on a daily basis. Effectively manage cross-functional project resources across engineering, construction, operations, quality, and supply chain.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Engineering
- Manufacturing Industry Experience (8+ Years - Preferably Food/Beverage, Consumer Products, or Similar High-Volume Industries)
- Project Management Certification (Including Exceptional Scheduling, Budgeting, & Resourcing Skills)
- Experience Executing Large Industrial Capital Projects & Greenfield Plant Builds
- Construction Management Expertise
- Comprehensive Analytical & Problem Solving Mindset
- Strong Planning & Decision Making Capability
- Excellent Written & Verbal Communication Skills
