MycoWorks is seeking a person to fill the role of Quality Manager. This position is required to adapt to the work culture of our tannery partner and MycoWorks and continue embracing the balanced culture among the employees affiliated with Mycoworks and our tannery partner. 

This role will be responsible for managing MycoWorks’ finished product testing and working closely with the on-site quality team affiliated with both our tannery partner and MycoWorks. 

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the on-site production and product development teams for materials testing, developing processes and procedures, supporting test protocol development, and analyzing and reporting results.  
  • Supporting the development and transfer of validated development tests into routine testing. 
  • Supporting all MycoWorks quality tasks such as testing implementation, and quality data collection by working with the Mycoworks Quality team. 
  • Executing all project tasks as assigned. 
  • Managing on-site lab test planning and scheduling as well as maximizing the lab capacity to allow result reporting in a timely manner. 
  • Ensuring laboratory safety is in place and reporting any potential lab safety issues in a timely manner. 
  • Working collaboratively with MycoWorks’ Operations, Product Development, Product, and Quality teams as well as tannery partners. 
  • Integrating Mycoworks’ methods and processes with current and future tannery partners

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of Quality Control and lab experience in the leather industry
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in tanning/tanning chemistry
  • Experience in leather alternatives is a plus 
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Good data analysis skills
  • Ability to adapt to frequent change and fast-paced environments
  • Successful managerial experience of a team (the ability to set goals, delegate work, and follow up results) 
  • Familiarity with lab management is preferred
  • Must have work experience running a high-volume lab, with thousands of samples monthly.  
  • Great capability with MS Office / G-Suite tools, data reporting, and statistical analysis 
  • Flexibility to travel internationally if requested
