As the Copywriter, you should be extremely detailed, creative, dedicated, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate is a very strong writer with experience crafting both editorial and advertorial content, copywriting and copy editing. 

You will work directly with our Lead Writer, our VP of Brand & Marketing, our Community Manager and within our Marketing Team to create content that supports company branding, websites for company and brand, promotional campaigns, marketing and internal communications. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Support Lead Writer for content generation, copywriting, copy editing, internal and external communications, and help drive and build MycoWorks culture
  • Support Lead Writer to build the brand narrative-crafting stories for brand campaigns, landing pages, video scripts, and more
  • Support Lead Writer to evolve our verbal identity and brand voice
  • Support Lead Writer to develop the brand voice and content strategy
  • Work with Community Manager for social media content creation
  • Work with the PR team to amplify our content, including creating and managing press releases and other external communications plans as needed
  • Work with the People team to create and manage strategic internal communications, including partnering with other departments to improve storytelling for presentations and pitches

Qualifications:

  • Two plus years or more of proven experience in effective, engaging, concise, and grammatically strong writing, preferably in a marketing capacity
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, journalism, English, or equivalent work experience
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Must write well under pressure and with time constraints 
  • Strong project management skills and scrappy ability to go find information needed to make content compelling
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with dynamic objectives
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Superior organization and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and journalistic ability to find answers
  • Agency experience a plus
