Museum of Ice Cream is looking for a General Manager who can own and operate an entire MOIC location. To be considered for this role, you should truly love working with others and leading a team of fun, passionate and imaginative individuals. You must be extremely ambitious and take great pride in delivering a superior guest experience and maintaining a seamless operation. MOIC is looking for GMs that are open to training at our SF and / or NYC locations and the possibility of relocation thereafter.  

Responsibilities:

  • Work with HQ Operations team to implement monthly, quarterly and yearly business plans
  • Work with respective managers to refine and update people, building, food, and retail operations
  • Create and implement operating systems and processes needed to run operations efficiently
  • Train, recruit, and oversee managers plus over 150 line level staff including ongoing professional development 
  • Work with Facilities Maintenance Manager to develop maintenance structure and  ensure all installations and physical space is in good working order 
  • Conduct and structure quarterly training sessions for staff
  • Ensure scripts and operations manuals are consistent and up to date
  • Monitor operating efficiency on a weekly basis by assessing costs and analyzing any unwarranted movement
  • Work with guest experience managers to execute written reviews and rankings for staff
  • Provide input to the design and production teams on layouts and design to meet the needs of operations
  • Manage operations budget and monitor financial performance 
  • Develop and maintain standard operational procedures specific to the location managed 
  • Ensure good health and safety practices of employees and guests, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures
  • Establish and maintain a proactive human resource function to ensure employee motivation, timeclock entry, training, scheduling, wage and benefits administration, and compliance with established labor regulations
  • Work with guest experience managers to monitor performance of museum in terms of guest satisfaction and determine proper courses of action

Who you are:

  • You have a college degree in hospitality, business or another related field 
  • You have 4+ years of management experience in hospitality, retail, restaurant, finance, consulting or another related field 
  • You are a strong, diplomatic leader that is enthusiastic about bringing a team together to inspire others 
  • You have a contagious, extroverted personality with unmatched energy
  • You are an experienced people manager
  • You have superior written and verbal communication skills 
  • Bonus: You have experience with Slack, Google Suite, and ADP Time and Attendance
