Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Senior Director, Marketing to manage all of Mursion’s branding and lead generation efforts. This person will own the entire “top-of funnel” process for customer acquisition.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital marketing and brand management. We are seeking an exceptionally strong strategic thinker, who writes clearly and can produce (directly and with contractor writers) significant  amounts of insightful, compelling, digital content to support Mursion’s brand development and account-based marketing efforts. Ideally this person is passionate and knowledgeable about issues related to the Future of Work. This person should have exceptionally strong digital marketing expertise and be comfortable with the latest digital marketing platforms.  We are seeking a forward-thinking leader who has sufficient technical knowledge to appreciate the power and limitations of Mursion’s technology.  The ideal candidate will have been personally responsible for building a brand and generating strong leads for an enterprise sales team. This person must be an exceptional writer and team leader who can work with sales, product development, and client experience team leaders to implement transformational marketing campaigns.  

This position is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, until such time as Mursion hires a Chief Revenue Officer.  While Mursion is based in San Francisco, remote candidates will be considered. The compensation package for this position includes a base salary range from $125K-$175K, bonus eligibility and stock options, based on applied experience, geographic location, and other factors identified by the hiring committee.

Responsibilities 

  • Conduct a comprehensive brand audit to assess current positioning, messaging, and brand perception.
  • Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan aligned with business objectives and target audience.
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of digital marketing, including content creation, social media, email campaigns, SEO/SEM, and digital advertising.
  • Lead outreach to establish a more visible presence for Mursion at conferences, podcasts, panels and events.  Book key leaders at Mursion as thought leaders/speakers on panels and conferences. 
  • Partner with the Client Engagement Team to create a Mursion client network.
  • Drive brand awareness and engagement through compelling storytelling and creative content initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of marketing efforts with product development, sales, and customer success.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art digital marketing platforms to support account-based marketing plans and personalized customer experiences.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to optimize marketing performance, measure ROI, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing marketing function, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior marketing role, preferably within the enterprise SaaS industry.
  • Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM tools
  • Proven track record of successfully building and scaling a brand in a competitive market.
  • Experience with and passion for Future of Work issues.
  • Exceptional writing skills with a demonstrated ability to craft compelling messaging and content.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, tools, and technologies.
  • Experience working with state-of-the-art digital marketing platforms to support account-based marketing plans and personalized customer experiences.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable marketing initiatives.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on driving measurable outcomes and achieving targets.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
