We’re looking to add our first Technical Product Manager to our growing product team. In this role, you’ll focus on technical enablement and coordinating projects between engineers, designers and other stakeholders to launch advanced features and push forward complex technical objectives.

Reporting to the VP of Product, Mandy Steinmetz, you’ll join a product team motivated by providing best-in-industry solutions. As our first technical product manager, you’ll have a tremendous opportunity to handle complex technological projects and develop the action plans necessary for the engineering team to continue evolving our product.

What you’ll own: 

  • Coordinating the technical side of building the Muck Rack product, including leading and participating in all stages of product development from research, project planning and product development organization, through QA testing and launch 
  • Working closely with our engineering team on the development and operational delivery of projects including search index, technical debt, API work, and machine learning/recommendations

You might be an ideal fit for this role if the following describes you: 

  • 3-5 years product management experience with software-as-a-service products, having successfully defined the strategy for a feature set or product area and led its development
  • 1-2+ years in a technical capacity outside of product, with a background in computer science or software engineering preferred 
  • Strong technical know-how, with the ability to communicate seamlessly between strategy-minded product team members, engineers and designers
  • Data-oriented, with an understanding of how product metrics and business metrics are related, the ability to run SQL queries, comfort navigating business intelligence tools and relational databases, and experience with very large data sets 
  • Strong project manager, with track record of collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and business-facing teams and comfort leading or managing cross-functional projects
  • Experience with APIs/integrations 
  • Exposure to managing budgets and assessing operational costs
  • Take an agile approach to product management and are open-minded to applying the most relevant methodologies
  • Bonus if you have any of the following experience: search or machine learning, Python, any web frameworks (Django is a huge plus!), CRM products
