Muck Rack is the leading SaaS platform for public relations and communications professionals. Our mission is to make PR pros more successful by providing them with technology to find journalists to pitch, monitor media, quantify their impact and work more efficiently with their teams.

Self-funded and remote-first, Crain’s named Muck Rack one of the best places to work in 2019 and 2020. We value resilience, transparency, ownership, and customer devotion and infuse these values into everything we do. We’re growing quickly, and we’re looking for an experienced and adaptable Product Manager to join our team and help launch and improve features on Muck Rack.

As a Product Manager, you’ll immediately contribute to Muck Rack’s roadmap by conducting research, defining specifications, managing development, testing and launching new, innovative, data-driven products on Muck Rack.

You’ll join a product team motivated by launching features. We aren’t scrum, we aren’t waterfall, we aren’t agile. We blend the best components of those strategies and collaborate with our teammates to ship products that delight our users around the world, evolve in the ever-changing media landscape and directly contribute to our company’s growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating, managing and delivering feature plans, roadmaps, project plans and specifications.
  • Collaborating with and leading cross-functional teams including engineering, customer success, marketing, and design to build features, implement growth strategies and manage complex projects.
  • Leading and participating in all stages of product development including research, project planning, product development organization, QA testing and launching features.
  • Analyzing and monitoring qualitative and quantitative data on Muck Rack usage to develop world-class user experiences.
  • Presenting findings, research and preparing strategy recommendations to product stakeholders.
  • Working closely with internal teams, customers and partners.

We’re looking for someone to join our team who:

  • Thrives in fast-paced environments and gets excited about launching new products.
  • Has 2-4 years of product management experience, preferably with software-as-a-service products.
  • Has successfully shipped products, especially with significant reporting functionality, CRM capabilities, a reliance on machine learning or that use technologies like Elasticsearch, Celery (or other task queues) and natural language processing.
  • Collaborates well with engineers, designers, business-facing teams and integrates those partnerships into impactful products.
  • Approaches product development and management with data-driven strategies.
  • Understands product metrics and their relation to business metrics.
  • Is an articulate communicator (both written and verbal) capable of working with a distributed product, design and engineering team.
  • Creatively connects customer feedback to product development.
  • Loves technology, software and is comfortable learning new tools or using some that we rely on (like Trello, Github, Slack, Intercom, Zapier, Productboard and Heap) to manage the product development process.
