Job Summary:

As a Payroll Specialist is primarily responsible for processing payroll and maintaining the employee database regarding salary and pay. This position will report to the Senior AP & Payroll Specialist.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

● None

Duties/Responsibilities:

● Responsible for processing semi-monthly and off cycle payroll for non-exempt and exempt employees
● Process new hires, terminations, leave of absence, employee changes, bonuses and merit increase in the PEO systems
● Validate and process employee timesheets for appropriate approvals and follow up as needed to ensure approvals are processed in a timely manner
● Prepare and maintain payroll reports, payroll accounting files and timekeeping records
● Handle all payroll inquiries
● Prepare audit schedules related to payroll
● Perform monthly payroll reconciliations
● Prepare and upload payroll journal entries into QuickBooks
● Calculate sales commissions and maintain commission records
● Perform credit card and bank reconciliations
● Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Required Skills/Abilities:

● Previous experience with Insperity or other PEO payroll system
● Experience with MS Excel including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups
● Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
● Ability to verbally communicate complex and detailed information in a clear and concise manner
● Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
● Knowledge of end-to-end payroll administration
● Team player with strong communication, customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills.
● Communicate with employees and others in a professional and courteous manner while maintaining strict confidentiality of all information

Education/Experience:

● Five years of payroll processing experience
● Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred

Physical Requirements:

● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
● Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Other Requirements:

● Candidate preferably located in the Bay Area or within driving distance of Foster City Headquarters.
● This role is 95% remote. 5% is on call basis for office visit.

 

Salary Range:

● $52.00/hour (Pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.)
