Job Category

As the Director of Client Engagement, you will lead our growing team of engagement managers, taking ownership of rapid client expansion and enabling us to strengthen and deepen our client relationships. Motimatic delivers a fully turnkey solution for our clients, with a dedicated engagement manager taking the lead in producing success. This key role requires you to be exceptional at delivering client value, building and managing a team of engagement managers, and contributing leadership internally as our company grows. We are looking for someone who is smart, highly entrepreneurial, able to execute, and has an optimistic, work-hard-play-hard mentality. Must excel at both internal and external communication.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own client outcomes across all verticals. This entails:
    • Ongoing direct operational management and P&L responsibilities for all clients, including setting and managing expectations proactively, and moving new accounts from the Proposal Stage through Closed and beyond.  
    • Driving cross-functional team collaboration to exceed client goals; experience and comfort with matrix management a must.
    • Quickly becoming an expert in Motimatic’s IP and product capabilities
    • Evolving, documenting and executing client relationship practices, processes, and supporting materials
    • Applying strong technical and analytical skills, able to analyze client data for actionable insights
    • Working consistently and creatively to identify unfulfilled client needs, and to develop and sell products and services to meet those needs.
    • Meeting and exceeding clients’ quantitative goals - you are responsible for surpassing client expectations.
  • As the company grows, you will recruit and manage a team of outstanding engagement managers, potentially contributing operating leadership more broadly as needed.
  • Contribute leadership in change management as the company grows. Provide thought leadership in developing new, innovative practices and solutions.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.

Additional Competencies

  • Ability to develop high-quality presentation materials for prospective and current clients, including platform demos, proposals, and reporting decks.
  • Ability to understand, discuss, and strategically respond to trends and patterns in client data.
  • Ability to think strategically about the content experience we deploy to achieve impact,  propose new approaches and maintain alignment with target impacts. 
  • Ability to grasp the key drivers of the business, be comfortable with multi-tasking, and prioritize tasks in alignment with overall business drivers and objectives.
  • Ability to break down complex data and reporting and their implications, ability to understand key levers of success based on data and reporting, ability to work with client and internal teams to get at data, and the ability to leverage this information into creative solutions to drive quantitative success for our clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Marketing, Business, Technology, or related; Master’s degree preferred
  • 8-10 years of experience in client management and/or client success, with exceptional ability to build positive rapport with clients. Client-facing experience in operations roles a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, particularly in a start-up environment where change, learning, and growth are constant. 
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and work effectively in proprietary web-based technologies
  • Excellent project management and team collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; a track record of successful engagement of both internal and external stakeholders
  • A passion for our mission and desire for a career that improves lives in education and career development 
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to grow and learn

Preferred

  • Strong grasp of best practices in online performance marketing and the digital advertising ecosystem
  • Strong understanding of SaaS product development process, ability to inform product roadmap based on client needs and growth opportunities
  • Experience managing opportunities in Salesforce
