The Opportunity
Join us as a Senior Data Scientist and work closely with our engineering and analytics team. In this role, you will have a chance to learn from seasoned professionals and grow your skills into a full stack data scientist. This is a growth role for someone ready to take the next step in their career. It's not expected that you will be an expert in all areas of this role but rather that you will be fearlessly motivated to expand your skill set.
Who You Are
You may be either a data engineer who wants to learn more about data science or a data scientist who wants to spend more time writing production level python code. Either way, have a passionate commitment to leveraging data in order to solve business challenges. You have a get-the-job-done mentality that prioritizes the outcome not the tool or modeling approach.
You bring solid data engineering skills and can write production level python scripting code. However, you really see yourself as a hands-on data scientist. Your ethos is to get your hands dirty with the data--writing queries, looking at relationships, and figuring out solutions.
What You Will Do
- Apply strong strong data expertise (SQL, python, scripting, etc) to clean data and build a data normalization pipeline.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to build data reporting and modeling that drive revenue and customer success.
- Create models and data science insights that drive new product features.
- Work with the engineering team to add modeling and data pipelines to production code.
- Apply statistical expertise to analyze outcomes and identify business-relevant patterns in the data
- Serve in a client-facing role to ensure the integration of client's data into the product.
Required Skills and Experience
- MS/PhD degree in a highly quantitative field with 5+ years of non-academic experience in either a data engineering or data science role.
- Strong SQL and python coding skills
- Working knowledge of data warehousing principles
- Familiarity with object oriented programming and unit testing
- Experience with machine learning and its statistical underpinnings
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and to effectively collaborate within cross-functional teams
- Sincere passion for the mission of Motimatic
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience working with dirty customer data
- Experience with machine learning including classification algorithms, prediction algorithms, NLP, or AI
- Experience with ETL and data visualization tools
- Experience and knowledge of Object Oriented Programming, Functional Programming
- Experience with any of the Cloud Computing Platforms
- Working knowledge of data warehousing principles
- Ability to appropriately select and apply a variety of statistical methods to analyze data and draw conclusions
- Strong communication and cross functional collaboration skills"
