I am Tammo, engineering manager for moovel Mobile Developers in Hamburg. We are looking for Android developers in three of our squads (cross-functional agile development teams).

How the role works

Hamburg: The Mobility Framework Squad is providing the base for most of moovel´s customer facing services. As a member of this squad your responsibility will be to help create a great experience for the user, but also to support other teams to reach our shared goals.

Hamburg: The Transit Rider Squad aims to provide our users with the best experience travelling in cities in a sustainable way. As a member of this squad your responsibility will be to show users the best public transit options and to make sure the ticket purchase process is as fast and convenient and possible.

Hamburg: The On Demand Rider Squad is building the apps that enable our users to use the next generation of demand-responsive transit solution, our own OnDemand. As a member of our Rider Squad you will work on improving the experience that our users go through and help them book a ride with one of the most innovative mobility service providers on the market.

We are looking for an open minded personality who enjoys working in an agile environment. You will be happy to see the team’s efforts being shipped to the customer in short intervals and strive to learn and share your knowledge with your colleagues. Your mission is to deliver the best possible product through technical excellence.

Our codebase consists of modules ranging from networking to the front-facing UI. While focusing on the development of new features, you will also be contributing to the core layers of our application.

Some of the things you will do

  • You are part of an interdisciplinary agile working team, responsible for building the Mobility app

  • Design, develop, improve and deploy all necessary app components written in Swift

  • Collaborate with other teams, contribute and give feedback to pull requests

  • Participate in planning meetings and support product and design with your deep Android knowledge

  • Manage source code in multiple repos using Git along with GitHub Enterprise

  • Keep a high quality standard, write unit tests and improve overall code coverage

  • Build and release with Fastlane and TeamCity

About you

  • At least 3 years of experience in developing, releasing, and maintaining native Android libraries and applications

  • Good knowledge of git

  • Knowledge of Android SDK and libraries such as rxjava2 and dagger2

  • Good knowledge of Java, Kotlin and common software design patterns (e.g. MVP pattern)

  • Experience with a CI system

  • Excellent in app architecture and code quality

  • Debugging and testing skills with riddle solver attitude

  • Good understanding of the material design guidelines

  • Experience in collaborating in large development organizations and within a full stack agile development team

  • Good verbal and writing skills in English
