Monzo is the fastest growing bank in the UK and we’ve only just begun. 

We are looking for people to help us scale and expand. Our small and high impact Special Projects Team works across the company. We identify and assess new opportunities, support our executive, product and operations teams with both commercial nous and analytical thinking and help build the combination of systems and people needed to keep us loved by our customers. We do what it takes to help Monzo grow. 

To succeed, you should be comfortable with using data to shape your thinking, collaborating with partners and colleagues to build something bigger than yourself, and be open to learning what you don’t know. We’d want you to apply if you are underwhelmed by banks today - as a consumer or a professional - and are interested in bringing your brainpower and grit to creating something better. 

You’ll have a lot of freedom to shape your own career as Monzo grows. As an associate, you should expect that you will come to work on a wide range of projects. We will help you develop in business development, data and analytics and project management. As you grow, you may take a leadership role in a part of Monzo that you care about. Previous team members have gone on to take roles in our Partnerships, Finance, Product, People and Operations teams. 

You should apply if:

  • You thrive in ambiguity, ask incisive questions and take a structured approach to problem-solving
  • You’re numerate and data oriented: you can write a SQL query to help you solve problems and have dabbled with a bit of python or R
  • You are in your element understanding and solving complex problems, whether it is based on regulation, business processes, user needs, or technology 
  • You pursued STEM studies or have work experience that demonstrates comfort with numbers 
  • You are humble but excited by the ambition of what we’re doing at Monzo 

Experience in financial services, banking or a high growth startup would be a bonus but is not essential for this role. We encourage people with diverse backgrounds and from industries other than finance to apply. This role can be based in our London office.
