Founded by Jump Trading alums, Monad Labs is a tech startup using low-latency programming, compiler optimization, and multithreaded computing to build an ultra-high-performance smart contract platform. The work entails building an optimal stack-based VM that supports multithreaded computation, as well as developing and implementing an efficient Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT) algorithm enabling a network of nodes to come to consensus. We recently raised $225M in series A funding to scale our team in bringing the Monad blockchain to production.
The Role
Monad Labs is looking for an exceptional compiler engineer to work on challenging greenfield projects that accelerate bytecode execution. For example, you will work on a bytecode execution graph builder which will enable speculative pre-execution of potential control flow paths. Your work will require intensive research and engineering and will help accelerate a platform securing billions of dollars in value. You will report to the CTO. Experience with crypto is not expected.
What You’ll Do
- Work on greenfield performance-oriented projects in a fast-moving startup environment
- Research ideas for accelerating EVM bytecode execution
- Design and implement performant production systems
Who You Are
- Proven track record in compiler design and system architecture
- Strong background in software engineering principles
- Experience with industry-standard compiler technologies
- Good understanding of testing infrastructure and how to leverage it to test compiler features
- Industry and/or academic experience working on compilers for parallel architectures
- Strong C++ programming skills

Salary and benefits
Minimum full-time salary of $250,000. (**This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary; a final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.)
