The role: 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Packaging Engineer to join our team at Molton Brown's R&D Lab on a fixed-term contract basis. The role is to work on a bespoke project for Molton Brown working between different suppliers to ensure all design features are maintained but that the final product is fit for purpose and meet all the technical performance criteria expected by MB/Kao and our customers. 

What you will do: 

  • Provide packaging development services including concept, feasibility, specifications, design parameters, distribution and shipping requirements, reporting and documentation. 
  • Provide technical expertise in the development of new packaging as well as improvements to existing packaging in close co-operation with formulation development, marketing, customer business, strategic sourcing and manufacturing. 
  • Training & support of relevant personnel on new packaging designs and their relationship to equipment. Consultancy & support for packaging development engineers & technologists in the project development phase. 
  • Prepare appropriate reports and presentations for audiences at all levels and in all regions within Kao. The purpose of these presentations is to gain acceptance and approval of the package development recommendations. 
  • Effectively communicate difficult or complex material in a way that is easy to understand.  Use a wide range of techniques to communicate complex ideas to diverse groups. 

What you need: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Packaging Science 
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Plastic moulding packaging development.
