We are looking for an exceptional Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our highly valued accounting team! As the Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will have the opportunity to be a key player on the Revenue Team responsible for the collection of outstanding receivables, resolving customer disputes and escalating collection issues internally.
What you'll do
- Manage day-to-day AR operations for the APAC region, with a primary focus on India and Southeast Asia (SEA), including customer onboarding, business credit checks, billing, payment processing, collections follow-up, and customer correspondence.
- Conduct proactive collections follow-up via phone and email to ensure timely payments.
- Monitor AR aging reports to identify potential payment issues, addressing them promptly with follow-up actions.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve AR disputes, including issues related to invoices, short payments, and tax deductions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and other departments to address AR concerns and improve processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal stakeholders and customers.
- Apply all forms of payments accurately and in a timely manner within NetSuite and Follow up with customers to address cash application inquiries.
- Participate in special projects and ad-hoc tasks in Accounting/Finance as needed.
What you'll need to succeed
- BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant AR or billing experience.
- Required: Strong understanding of the Indian market, including tax requirements and regulatory nuances related to billing and collections in India.
- A second language other than English is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to collaborate.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive approach to project ownership and completion.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments within growing companies.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including Vlookups and Pivot tables.
- Familiarity with NetSuite or other large ERP systems.
