We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Lead DevOps Engineer to join our welcoming team. Engineers here have an oversized impact with their work – advancing not only Moda’s technology but the retail industry as a whole. This full-time Software Engineer role is entirely remote and comes with a generous salary and benefits. This is a remote role, the headquarters are based in New York City so the standard working hours will be based on Eastern Time.

You’ll get to

  • Build best-in-class build and deployment systems
  • Mentor direct reports and help develop their careers
  • Work to define the team roadmap
  • Enable the team to produce high-quality code and systems, from development to production
  • Work with our engineering team to plan, deploy, and maintain critical business applications
  • Automate deployment of container applications, system configurations and security settings
  • Provide guidance and support during deployment and general production outages
  • Introduce new technologies and related tools to grow our agile development environment
  • Troubleshoot problems, involving the appropriate resources and driving resolution of issues with a focus on minimizing impact to our customers
  • Collaborate with developers to make sure new environments meet requirements and conform to best practices

Required Qualification:

  • Expert level AWS experience required
  • 1+ years directly managing a DevOps/infrastructure team required
  • Ability to balance people management, technical planning, and hands-on-keyboard contributions
  • Clear track record of successfully shipping services at scale
  • Experience managing cloud provider costs
  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
  • Experience with containers and container deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience using deployment automation tools
  • Experience with developer observability tools (distributed logging, tracing, monitoring, alerting)
  • Ability to code and script
  • Experience implementing and using CI/CD systems
  • A strong focus on business outcomes
  • Collaboration, open communication and comfort reaching across functional borders
