Join the Pixel Squad, where we are improving and scaling the back-end systems that power MNTN’s pixel, processing millions of data points daily. We’re seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to help us build, maintain, and enhance robust back-end services that ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our data collection and pixel management systems. 

We are looking for someone with a bias for action who thrives in an incremental delivery environment, with the ability to break down large-scale projects into manageable tasks. You’ll work independently, while also contributing to a collaborative, impact-driven team.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Develop and maintain backend systems and APIs.
  • Optimize and manage queries and schemas for efficient data processing.
  • Design and implement microservices within a high-scale environment, handling millions of data points per day.
  • Create and work with event-driven architecture and large-scale data flows.
  • Plan and break down larger epics into tasks and sub-tasks.
  • Maintain a focus on quality, ensuring robust error handling, automatic recovery, and great logging.
  • Design and implement backend integrations with third-party systems.
  • Implement rich automated testing, end-to-end testing, and provide go-live confidence through monitoring and alert systems.
  • Lead or participate in the deployment process, ensuring smooth transitions and operational reliability post-deployment.
  • Provide clear communication of technical impacts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay informed of industry best practices in ad tech and SaaS, bringing new ideas and expertise into discussions.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of back-end development experience.
  • Expertise with APIs, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems.
  • Strong experience handling large-scale data operations and high-scale systems, capable of processing millions of data points.
  • Proven track record of delivering in an agile or Kanban development environment.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles, including CI/CD, automated testing, and production monitoring.
  • Experience in ad tech, SaaS, or self-service platforms is a plus.
