The Director of DevOps, Information Security & Information Technology will lead our current DevOps effort, which is centered in managing a large scale Cloud Hosted environment with a team of DevOps engineers. You will lead and manage the DevOps team, automate the CI/CD pipeline, and work across the Technology teams to keep our development team moving forward and our systems operating 24/7. In addition, you will build a new Information Security team and implement Information Security best practices. You would be guiding us in terms of compliance (SOC2, GDPR), security, disaster recovery plan, capacity planning, AWS Cost optimization, infrastructure auditing etc. You will also manage IT support for the company.

What you’ll do: 

  • Deploy and maintain critical applications on cloud-native microservices architecture
  • Continually assess the performance of our systems and proactively make changes that adapt to business needs
  • Implement tools and processes to support engineering and the production environment
  • Implementing automation, effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code
  • Manage a continuous integration and delivery pipeline to maximize efficiency and iterate on best practices to increase the quality and velocity of deployments
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations for mission-critical systems design and implementing secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments
  • Continuously evaluating existing systems with industry standards and make improvements
  • Work collaboratively with multiple agile teams to help deliver end-to-end products and features, seeing them through from conception to delivery
  • Continue to keep the lights on (day-to-day administration) 
  • Experience with AWS preferred.

Information Security

  • Work with engineering teams to implement best security practices.
  • Research compliances and guide us towards the ones we would need given our growing business.
  • Implementing a SOC2 complaint environment
  • Preferred industry qualifications - CISSP / CISA / CRISC / SABSA
  • ISACA Certified Information Manager.
  • Broad knowledge of a wide range of Information Technology systems and a deep understanding of the inherent security risks associated with the technologies.
  • Understanding of information security principles and best practice (e.g., ISO27001 and ISF Standards of Good Practice for Information Security)
  • Conduct security assessments through vulnerability testing and risk analysis
  • Develop incident response and disaster recovery plans.
  • Verify the security of third-party vendors and collaborating with them to meet security requirements.

You have: 

  • 10+ yrs Experience of DevOps approach - automation is key: Ansible, Jenkins (CI/ CD), Puppet etc
  • 5+ years Managing DevOps/IT function and rapid growth/geographically dispersed employee and client base
  • Experience scripting with Python, Ruby, Bash
  • Linux OS and Package management
  • Clear commitment to Cloud - track record with AWS preferred, but Google also of interest
  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
  • Strong leadership skills and critical thinking skills is essential
  • Problem solving skills and are an out of the box thinker

Would be great if you have:

  • Cassandra (highly preferred)
  • Apache Kafka (highly preferred)
  • Elastic/ELK stack
  • Experience with Kubernetes/ Container Orchestration
