The Coordinator, Data Operations will assist the Director, Data Operations, in all aspects of Major League Baseball, independent league baseball and amateur baseball game coverage and operations. Candidates must have a strong knowledge of baseball, a high degree of comfort with new and developing technologies, and extreme attention to detail and procedure. Work generally takes place during baseball game hours, which includes mid-week evenings and weekend days, so candidates are required to be flexible in scheduling.
Qualifications:

Exceptional (and demonstrable) knowledge of baseball and its rules;

Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience working for a Major League Baseball club or other professional sports club, or with a similar sports league or media entity;

Strong computer proficiency (Windows OS and Windows-based software) and the ability to quickly learn and operate new software;
-
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment;

Extremely detail oriented and thorough, and able to reliably perform repetitive tasks;
-
Self-motivated, with the ability to complete job tasks and requirements with (at times) minimal supervision;
-
A "team player" with a great attitude, including but not limited to the ability to work closely and cooperatively with multiple departments within our company, as well as clubs and business partners;

Regular availability to work shifts at night, and on weekends and holidays, as necessary;

Availability for periodic work-related travel to baseball venues and work-related events.
Responsibilities:
-
Participate in hiring and training of part-time staff, in-house as well as on-site training in Major League Baseball and/or Minor League Baseball venues as required;

Participate in data management software testing and interface development, and create system documentation and training materials;

Oversee part-time staff who operate in-game data capture systems and coordinate game-night coverage with other areas of stats operations;

Troubleshoot software bugs and issues and escalate appropriately to internal stakeholders and/or technology partners;
-
Maintain game and part-time staff coverage schedules and communicate changes to internal stakeholders;

Manage post-game data validation checks and prepare post-game reports;

Maintain contacts with club personnel and support use of stats reporting applications;

Other responsibilities as determined by the Director, Data Operations.
Pay Range: $68,000
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
