The HR Generalist will report to VP, HR + Culture.

Job Overview

The HR Generalist will drive key HR initiatives that will substantially enhance the success and growth of the Mizzen+Main organization. In this role, you will champion our company culture and be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and resolving HR challenges as they arise. Given the significant growth of the business, this role is particularly critical to helping ensure the company attracts and hires talented individuals who align with our values and protect our unique culture. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of all areas within the HR discipline and possess the ability to execute operational tasks in our HR system.  The HR Generalist will support both corporate and retail employees, be based out of our Dallas headquarters and report to the Vice President of HR & Culture.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Drive Company and people initiatives and support HR activities including talent acquisition & onboarding, learning and development, benefits, payroll, retention and employee engagement.
  • Serve as a culture ambassador, continuing to drive and enhance Mizzen+Main’s values. Seek to ensure a fun, motivating, and positive work environment for all employees.
  • Lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding programs that compete to attract and retain best in class talent. Leverage technology to help create an exceptional candidate and employee experience.
  • Review and enforce federal and state employment regulations and ensure Mizzen+Main remains in compliance.
  • Address employee relations issues when they arise, partnering with managers and employees to ensure fair and timely resolutions.
  • Support the Mizzen+Main Leadership Team in driving all cross- functional business goals.


  • 3 +years previous experience in human resources.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/ or Master’s in Human Resources, Business or related field.
  • SPHR or SHRM-CP certification strongly preferred..
  • Successful track record in collaborating, partnering, and influencing at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to source candidates and hire for multiple open roles and manage the full recruiting lifecycle from requisition to onboarding.
  • Understanding of employment law, compensation, benefits, employee relations, compliance, and regulatory standards.  Anticipate and proactively initiate actions to comply with Company requirements.
  • Strong project management capabilities, superior written/verbal communication and presentation skills. 
  • A passion for company culture that is agile, inspirational, intellectually curious.
