Overview  

Our Product Team is growing as we write the next chapter in Mixbook history! We are seeking a Product Design Lead to apply their mastery to creating delightfully simple experiences for our customers, shuffling gracefully between entrepreneurial innovation to day-in-day-out iterative craftsmanship. Alongside Product Managers, you’ll collaborate across functions to form product strategies, facilitate design thinking, design new features (while enhancing existing ones), and launch new products. You are a human-centered usability advocate who leverages research and data insights to design unforgettable experiences that meet our customers’ needs. Your innovative designs will help users create meaningful and visually compelling narratives that capture their memories and experiences in a truly personalized way. This is a remote position with travel (1-2x a year potentially) to the San Francisco Bay Area and Moldova. 

Job Description  

Mixbook is looking for a phenomenal Product Design Lead to shape the future of how we remember, visualize and interact with our memories. Crafting a story around our photos can be hard, and we are building new ways to relive and share memories with  GenAI-powered storytelling artifacts, tools and technologies. This key role will be involved in every aspect of the product development process from exploring Mixbook’s next mind-blowing innovation to iterating/improving/refining ideas driven by insights from research, user testing and data analysis. All of our efforts make a huge impact on Mixbook’s product vision of serving customers who want complete creative control or a fully automated design experience, on any device.

Please provide a portfolio of work that demonstrates your experience in end-to-end product design. 

What You’ll Do  

  • Design simple, clear, data-driven, human-centric experiences that anticipate customers’ needs and delight them
  • Enhance the creation experience with Gen Ai technologies 
  • Drive the product discovery process through research (quantitative and qualitative), ideation sessions, collaborative workshops and/or design sprints
  • Create low and high fidelity designs and rapid prototypes that drive product discovery and innovation 
  • Participate in high-level, strategic decisions collaboratively with Product Managers and Engineers within the Create domain
  • Carry projects from research to pixel-detail deliverables
  • Ensure a unified customer experience across all channels and touchpoints
  • Evangelize design excellence by galvanizing our design vision, principles, and strategy across teams, functions and the company
  • Encourage and exchange ideas to continually improve our design process
  • Participate openly in an ego-free team culture

What You’ll Need  

  • 8-10 years of overall work experience with at least 6+ years of experience in UX/UI design building high-quality consumer web and mobile experiences 
  • Experience with designing for automation with Artificial Intelligence and machine learning technology to optimize the design/customization experience
  • Previous experience designing for creation or design software/apps highly preferred
  • Experience with common design tools (e.g. Figma) and prototyping tools (e.g. Framer, Proto, Principle) 
  • Experience in planning and executing qualitative and quantitative user research 
  • Strong communication & presentation skills with proven ability to work and influence cross-functionally with stakeholders and offshore engineers
  • A portfolio of case studies that showcase your proven skills in solving real customer problems, compelling with provocative visual designs and delighting with modern interaction design
  • Experience with Gen Ai creation tools, software, mobile apps, and multimedia are a plus!
