About the Job

We are looking for a Linux Monitoring Manager to oversee and manage the monitoring infrastructure for our Linux-based systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Linux operating systems, monitoring tools, and best practices for ensuring system stability, performance, and security.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain monitoring solutions for Linux-based systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide insights into system health, performance metrics, and potential issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify monitoring requirements, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement monitoring solutions that meet business needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve monitoring-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, alerting failures, and data inconsistencies.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of monitoring infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in Linux monitoring tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior members of the monitoring team.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, regulations, and industry best practices in monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to monitoring alerts and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation, and knowledge base articles for monitoring-related tasks and processes.

Requirements:

  • Willing to work in US shift timing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration and monitoring. also, should have sufficient experience in managing a team of min 8 members.
  • Idea in scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar. also ticketing tools such as Zendesk, ClickUp or Jira.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, services, and infrastructure components (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, LDAP).
  • Solid grasp of Linux performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator, Certified Monitoring Professional) are a plus.
