Brand Protection Specialist

Mishimoto is currently seeking a full-time Brand Protection Specialist who will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of brand protection for Mishimoto.  This includes developing and implementing strategies to protect the brand managing relationships with external partners, and monitoring and enforcing intellectual property laws.  This person should have a strong understanding of intellectual property laws, including trademarks and copyrights.  Knowledge of investigative techniques, familiarity with online platforms and tools.  Digital platforms include but are not limited to trademark violations, Google Alerts and responses, forum review, social media review, eBay/Amazon listing review, product reviews and responses.  This position will report to the Product Lifecycle Manager.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Monitor online marketplaces, social media platforms and websites to identify concerns, issues, and violations related to Mishimoto brand and products
  • Support and contribute intellectual property enforcement-related actions
  • Monitor consumer product reviews, identify opportunities for corrective actions, and report such opportunities to management and other stakeholders
  • Review reseller listings to assure compliance with established Minimum Advertised Pricing policies.
  • Partner with Legal to quickly handle and resolve critical and time-sensitive escalations.
  • Create tickets to appropriate functions to resolve found issues, following up to assure execution of such tickets.
  • Weekly reporting to management of key issues, resolutions, and metrics.
  • Develop and implement brand protection strategies to identify instances of brand misuse, counterfeits, and other infringements
  • Own relationships with intellectual property owners on issues such as product authenticity, product integrity, copyright and trademark, and other product quality issues. 

 

Your Creds:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Business Administration, Legal/Paralegal, or related business degree is required
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a related field, such as research, trademark/copyright law, or online marketing is preferred
  • 1-2 years prior experience in a product-related environment, such as manufacturing, automotive or industrial
  • Understanding of automotive systems and products is required

 

You Must Have:

  • Detail-oriented mindset
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills – you know your stuff and you can engage with your colleagues in a positive, productive way.
  • Fast learner with an efficient way of working
