Position Summary

Responsible for accounting operations functions of accounts payable, expense reporting as well as general accounting reporting and responsibilities associated with these areas. This role is customer services oriented. The ideal candidate will have proven their ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and complex environment. As the role requires operational diligence as well as a working understanding of accounting concepts, a mix of technical and functional experience is preferred. The candidate should be able to independently tackle challenges and have a strong work ethic. This position will work with team members across the organization and interface with several external parties. This role is a critical part of the finance and accounting department and our growing company. 

Responsibilities:

  • Own new Vendor set up and perform quarterly Vendor Master data review according SOX control requirements.
  • Responsible for obtaining Vendor financial information and verification of payment instructions.
  • System maintenance for tax reporting compliance and year end processing of 1099’s.
  • Perform expense reporting system administration and support activities related to employee transactions.
  • Coordinate AP activities ensuring timely and accurate process of vendor invoice for Mirum US and Canada entities.
  • Responsible for month end close of AP subledger and account reconciliation.
  • Run AP Close related reports required for monthly accruals.
  • Generate quarterly search of unrecorded liabilities (SURL) reports.
  • Act as a liaison between AP and the Business including follow-ups on POs low on funds and sending reminders to internal approvers to approve time-sensitive invoices in the AP system.
  • Responsible for monthly accrual of the liability for unsubmitted expense reports based on Concur T&E.
  • Accounting for corporate credit card including month end journal entries, receipt support and accounting coding.
  • Own the process of providing Sunshine Act required information sourced from Concur T&E and NetSuite platforms.
  • Provide support for testing selections requested by the auditors during quarterly financial audits.
  • Update and document internal control reviews and support SOX walkthroughs.
  • Support SOX compliance audit requests and provide requested information for annual audits.
  • Provide customer service to internal organization and external vendors.
  • Perform systems and process training to new hires as needed.
  • Adherence to the company’s signature authority policy for invoice approval.
  • Support financial systems implementations and participate in process improvements.
  • Play active role in Accounting and Finance automation and integration projects to support the company’s rapid growth.
  • Assist on special projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed.
  • Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business expands.

Education/Experience:

  • Accounting or Finance degree and 5+ years of corporate accounting experience in both private and public sectors.
  • Prior work experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP system and Concur expense reporting platform is required, Bill.com is a plus.
  • Experience with Sunshine Act transparency reporting is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced spreadsheet proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
