Early 2019, MiQ launched in the Chinese market. Since then the demand for our services has grown exponentially. Our strategy is twofold; China Inbound - providing non-Chinese agencies and marketers the means to reach Chinese audiences in China. The other, China Outbound - providing Chinese agencies and marketers the opportunity to reach audiences outside of China. Both strategies are powered by programmatic, offering clients global programmatic solutions to reach their desired audiences and deliver results in China and outside China.

Based in London, this role will sit at the heart of the expanding China team, working across both Inbound and Outbound strategies. You will manage a team of expert China Traders and Ad Operations Executives, tasked with delivering successful programmatic campaigns for our growing client base. In addition, you will be expected to heavily contribute and shape the strategic direction of our China solution, providing expertise across product development, trading and operations.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Team lead for all China campaign management

- Set pace, rigor, and direction across the team and all campaigns

- Build and uphold campaign best practices / quality assurance

- Deliver consistent campaign-wide success, driving retention and revenue growth

- Directly trade strategically critical campaigns where necessary


• A technical and operational figurehead

- Timely and accurate day-to-day operational decision making

- Resolve campaign challenges, troubleshooting where necessary

- The go-to person for China related operational and technical inquiries

- Up-sell existing clients, introducing full-suite of product capabilities


• Develop and implement innovative operational practices

- Consistent innovation within trading, optimisation, reporting, insight, and product

- Transitions innovative ideas into action, team-wide best practice adoption

- Builds and maintains team-wide buy-in and adoption, maximising business impact

- Implements new product capabilities into existing and new client campaigns


• Manage, coach and train team of China Traders

- Direct line management of China Traders, globally

- Regular input and improvements for each team members campaigns

- Coach and develop team; up-skill soft, commercial, and core-competencies


• Internal financial forecasting and campaign-wide portfolio management

- Campaign-wide portfolio management; performance, pacing, delivery vs. targets

- Manage monthly and quarterly delivery against business financial targets

- EOM billing, reconciliation, and business financial reporting/commentary


• Shape strategy and direction of China trading, operations, and product

- Join and contribute to China management team

- Build and deliver against China management team quarterly OKRs



• Proven experience working in programmatic, hands on keyboard trading

• Previous management experience in trading and/or operational teams

• A thorough understanding of programmatic, a technical problem-solver

• Evidence of maximising commercial opportunity via trading and operational excellence



• High proficiency across global programmatic platforms i.e. DV360, TTD, Amazon et al

• An understanding of how programmatic compliments marketers search/social strategy

• Detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize projects/tasks simultaneously and to completion

• High degree of self-motivation

• Eagerness to work in a ‘start-up’ environment that will rapidly iterate, an entrepreneur

• Professional verbal, presentation, and written communication skills

• Evidence of strong people management, employee development and recruiting

• Ability to excite and influence stakeholders across all departments

• Alignment with MiQ's core values/culture


Not mandatory but considered a bonus:

• Fluent in English and Mandarin (read, write and speak)

• An understanding of the Chinese digital and programmatic ecosystem

• High proficiency across Chinese programmatic platforms i.e. iPinYou, Yoyi, RTBAsia et al

• Understanding of international/China audiences i.e. nuances, behaviours, and trends
