About this role

We are looking for an Account Manager to join the team based out of Mintel’s London HQ office. The candidate should be ambitious, flexible, performance-oriented and will excel in managing and growing an existing portfolio of accounts.

Ideally, candidates will possess general knowledge and interest in marketing, research principles and disciplines, together with a passion and interest for media, agency and governmental landscape. Key to success is having the right attitude, enthusiasm, ambition and a positive outlook to grow and develop within a successful team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for selling our award winning products and their associated research tools along with custom solutions to a prestigious portfolio, within the UK region. You will be at ease presenting and negotiating at all levels, supported with a strong empathy and understanding and delivering against the clients business objectives. 

The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and possess exceptional creative problem solving skills with highly developed business acumen and commercial awareness.  Have integrity, loyalty and transparency and understand the importance of clear reporting on business activities whilst also enjoying being part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting client relationships by having  a deep understanding of their business and strategic objectives
  • Identify new champions and revenue streams by networking throughout assigned accounts and by leveraging contacts throughout territory
  • Develop and maintain expertise in the Media, Agency and Brand space
  • Deliver exceptional sales results against monthly, quarterly and annual targets
  • Work closely with the customer success team to execute Mintel’s core client servicing strategy with each client and adapt appropriately to each client’s core business objectives

What we are looking for:

  • Strong Account Management background, with proven success in achieving sales goals.
  • 3+ years proven sales experience.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills. Taking initiative to solve problems and uncover opportunities.
  • Highly polished, professional and consultative selling style
  • Committed to continuous learning and growth, constantly pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone to develop your skill set.
  • Naturally curious and great at navigating client conversations, asking second and third level questions to get at the heart of clients’ challenges and goals.
  • Humble, yet confident. You willingly admit when you need help, and you know how and when to utilize the resources and people around you. You are also willing to share your own knowledge for the benefit of the team.
