We have an IT development team working to radically improve how easily our clients can answer their questions, find key content pieces and quickly consume the insights produced from our data by our research team.  We’re looking for an Agile Team Lead to work with seven developers on this team and our business stakeholders to turn our goals into delivered features. This is a chance to be involved with a key initiative where improvements will benefit thousands of Mintel’s clients globally. 


Our ideal candidate would have several years experience with Agile development teams, as a Scrum Master, a Business Analyst or as a contributing team member with a history of participation in project management and facilitation activities.  You’ll be comfortable partnering with business stakeholders and helping IT development teams improve their effectiveness. You’ll be able to quickly apply your experience and associated skills so our team becomes even more successful.


This Team Lead role is broad.  What areas do we feel are important?

  • Building great relationships with our business stakeholders.  Understanding our overall goals, organising activities to dig into detail of requirements and unearth risks and challenges, building trust that you are a safe pair of hands with project detail.

  • Building great relationships with developers on your team.  Taking on line management responsibility for some team members, helping them to grow in their careers and improve their effectiveness.  Working with all team members to help them grow, improving productivity of your team overall.

  • Be involved with details of cases as your team are implementing them, proactively identifying and resolving impediments that might add risk to us delivering on time

  • Facilitating Agile / Scrum processes within the team.

  • Encouraging introspection, driving continuous improvement activities within the team.

  • Helping the team to develop a sense of ownership of their work and their product, in particular encouraging them to improve their QA practices and advocating for non-functional system improvements.

  • Getting involved in department improvements holistically.  Through effective networking with other colleagues, or via our Communities of Practice or Management catch ups, we’ll want to see our whole department improving from your energy, skills and experience.


Mintel employ over 70 developers across our offices in Chicago, London, and Shanghai. Projects cater for clients around the world so there is a lot of collaboration with teams in other countries.
