Mintel, the world’s leading market intelligence agency seeks to hire an ambitious and performance-oriented Country Manager to join our growing team in Seoul, Korea.  

The Country Manager will be responsible for commercial results of Korea office and overall development and future planning. 

Excellent internal and client-facing communication, networking, relationship development, product articulation and support, customer service, and consultative up-selling skills are an absolute requirement. Ideally candidate will possess a general knowledge and interest in marketing and market research together with a passion for selling and helping clients in the FMCG industry. The candidate should be able to work independently as well as in a team.


  • Sell new business and create a strategy to target key prospects in the FMCG industry and agencies/organizations across Korea and gain credibility for excellence in your field
  • Own relationship with select key clients
  • Be responsible for overall sales/retention results against target for Korea
  • Work strategically with the team to start, grow and support all aspects of the business sales cycle
  • Be the overall champion for Korea. creating clear and concise presentations to keep focus on investment for Korea
  • Utilize a consultative approach with clients to understand their ambitions and be able to demonstrate how our tools can support that with a clear ROI
  • Target clients at the Senior and C-level Executive level within dynamic and progressive organizations
  • Demonstrate a highly polished, professional and consultative selling style
  • Gather and relay market feedback information to the sales and leadership teams
  • Maintain records of all interactions with qualified prospects using our internal tracking database
  • Own the commercial performance of their country, ensuring progress and challenges are communicated throughout the year
  • Work directly with regional GM to report monthly performance and forecast future opportunities and losses
  • Lead, train and motivate sales and account management to exceed targets and progress with their careers
  • Take overall responsibility for office including organising and budgeting team events, updates and morale within the office
  • Identify issues early on within a country and work with team and GM to resolve them
  • Formulate a country vision and progress plan 
  • Conduct performance reviews with commercial team and give feedback for Korean employees outside of commercial
  • Expect 30% of travel

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in total and among which 5 years of proven FMCG or consultative sales results at the executive level
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel to grow business
  • Sound presentation skills, ability to listen, and excellent closing skills
  • Strong business development background, with proven success in establishing and expanding client relationships, and showing excellence in maximizing account potential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Korean
  • Highly polished, professional and consultative selling style and strong business ethic
  • Enthusiastic and passionate – have a genuine interest in the product. Have the presence and ability to ‘excite’ people about the service
