The Business Development Director (BDD) will  extend our global reach through expert guidance, exploration and execution on revenue growth through new and untapped business opportunities and partnerships within a specific country or geographical region. The BDD will be trusted to take the lead, exhibit initiative, and help drive the Minitab brands across all market segments and all channels, while having the knowledge and ability to both deploy and optimize Minitab’s global go to market strategy for his/her specific country or geographical region’s needs. 

 

The BDD is required to be growth-oriented and dynamic to outpace the local regional and global competitors by positioning Minitab as the leader in our respective target markets. He/She must possess a strong background and track record of business development success, ideally across both direct and indirect sales channels, along with marketing, customer success and overall business operations.

 

Initially, the primary focus will be identifying, recruiting, enabling and managing an effective local partner eco-system across all appropriate market and industry segments. These relationships are strategic, not tactical, and need to be committed to driving both recurring and new business revenue growth for Minitab.   The regional partner eco-system will align and be in full support of Minitab’s global go-to-market plan, the regional geographical operating plan, Minitab’s customer engagement lifecycle and value-based delivery approach. In addition, the BDD will be driving the necessary partner enablement programs along with the development and execution of annual partner business development plans. For the enterprise segment of the market, he/she will provide direct and proactive sales support on key  partner driven sales opportunities, strategize and operationalize new business development activities, understand and track their pipelines and leveraging the partner’s customer base for the upsell/cross-sell of Minitab’s products, solutions and services. The types of partners in the desired eco-system include system integrators, technology providers, complementary solutions providers, strategic consultants, value-added resellers, OEMs, distributors and resellers. 

 

In addition, based upon existing regional subsidiary Minitab deployments of locally headquartered enterprise level corporations, the BDD will take the initiative to engage directly with or without the local partners to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within his/her respective country or geographic region.

Experience:

10+ years of multi-channel business development enterprise software experience across both mid- market(100M-1B USD) and enterprise market (>1B USD) segments. Successfully working collaboratively across both  direct sales and services teams along with indirect partner channel to identify and close value-based opportunities is strongly desired. Consistent achievement of 100%+ revenue goals with total average annual revenue targets > 5M USD.  Multi-lingual is required in majority of assigned countries or regions.  Business Intelligence and or Statistical Analytics experience is a plus.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with business/marketing concentrations.  Master’s degree as well as engineering degrees are a plus.  General familiarity with structured value based and/or consultative selling methodologies and processes required.
