Director of Human Resources

MiniLuxe is a rapidly growing brand reinventing the nail and waxing industry by creating mini moments of luxury for our clients through clean self-care. We are actively seeking an ambitious and highly motivated leader to help build culture and organizational health in a rapidly-changing industry, with the ultimate goal of helping the brand achieve its potential of redefining the industry as the employer of choice.

The Director of HR will manage and oversee all aspects of the People Lifecycle at MiniLuxe, with direct report to the Chief Executive Officer. The Director of HR will develop the strategy and lead the management of People policies and practices in areas such as recruiting and onboarding, training and development, compensation and benefits, performance management, and employee relations.


  • Help develop and maintain MiniLuxe culture across all locations and markets through communication, best practices, and programs
  • Create and implement organizational development initiatives alongside the senior leadership team
  • Advance the People strategy with specific focus on recruiting, retaining, training, and developing the best possible people for our business
  • Create and build an organizational structure to support business growth and execute strategic priorities over the next 5 years with senior leadership
  • Optimize our onboarding program to meet the needs of our various teams and locations
  • Oversee development and delivery of employee training programs
  • Manage the performance review process in collaboration with operations and department leaders
  • Assist with the development and implementation of compensation plans to maintain a competitive edge
  • Oversee the administration and development of employee benefits
  • Direct the preparation and maintenance of personnel records and reports, employee handbooks, orientation manuals, and other publications on employee working conditions
  • Administer employee disciplinary policies and procedures
  • Ensure employee satisfaction, safety, wellness, welfare, and engagement
  • Maintain responsibility for compliance with federal, state, and local laws pertaining to all employee matters


  • 5-7 years of progressive human resources management experience for a multi-site organization, with proven experience in a retail/non-exempt environment
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (with emphasis in HR or related area preferred)
  • Is a collaborative and thoughtful problem solver, with well-honed critical reasoning/thinking, people development, business acumen, and analytical skills
  • HR Certifications such as SPHR or PHR preferred
  • Proven experience working “solo” in an HR department; a hands-on person who likes to support a changing and fast-growing business environment
  • Strong knowledge of all state and federal employment laws and legal requirements
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; someone who takes initiative and is a self-starter
  • Demonstrates a high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Deliver to deadlines with strong follow-up skills, problem resolution, and strategic thinking
  • Experience in the consumer goods, service, or hospitality industry is required
