About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cinematographer to join our team at the Mindvalley office in Kuala Lumpur. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a passion for cinematography and a track record of success in leading teams to deliver outstanding visual content. This individual will be responsible for supporting the cinematography department, staying updated on the latest film gear and techniques, and ensuring that all projects meet our high standards of quality and creativity.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and mentor a team of cinematographers and camera operators to execute projects efficiently and effectively. Ensuring the team is practicing up-to-date industry workflows and practices.
  • Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and other key stakeholders to develop and execute creative visions for each project.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in film gear, technology, and techniques, and make recommendations for equipment upgrades and improvements.
  • Oversee the color grading process to ensure that the final product meets the desired aesthetic standards.
  • Manage the logistical aspects of production, including equipment rentals, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
  • Supporting the team with quarterly goals that aim to improve our team’s output frequency and quality.
  • Edit video content to create compelling narratives, ensuring smooth transitions, proper pacing, and alignment with project objectives.

Technical Competencies:

  • Extensive knowledge of camera equipment, lighting techniques, and post-production processes.
  • Proficiency in color grading software such as DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Passionate about problem solving on both technical and administrative (process and workflow) level.
  • Proficient in video editing software under Adobe’s creative suite (Primarily Premiere & After Effects).
  • Using Editing and Animation AI tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics and visual effects to enhance video content when necessary.
  • Understanding of audio editing and sound design principles to ensure high-quality audio production.
  • (Optional/Beneficial) Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Cinematography, or a related fields

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Strong problem solving skills, when constructing internal processes and workflows.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a cinematographer, with a proven track record of success in leading teams and delivering high-quality visual content.
  • Experience in commercial productions and high-end music videos is a huge plus.
