About the Role

As a Senior Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Specialist, your core responsibility is to improve business outcomes by leading our experimentation efforts. You will be translating insights from data analysis and user research into well designed experiments that result in tangible improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs), including website conversions, lead sign-ups, and other relevant metrics. You will continuously refine our CRO best practices, leveraging the latest methodologies and technologies to stay ahead of the curve. Importantly, you will champion a culture of knowledge sharing, ensuring that learnings from experimentation are disseminated effectively across functions and readily accessible to all stakeholders. You will establish robust CRO processes that transcend departmental boundaries, ensuring that experimentation continues being a cornerstone of our organizational culture. Your will orchestrate a strategic approach to experimentation, ensuring that we prioritize initiatives effectively and maintain a healthy backlog of experiments across multiple teams. Moreover, you will serve as a mentor and coach, training other team members to become CRO subject matter experts and fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO):

  • Lead continuous improvement of the website's conversion rate, facilitating a higher percentage of visitors to undertake desired actions such as program purchases, sign-ups, or engagement.
  • Employ data analysis and user behavior assessment to pinpoint conversion bottlenecks and opportunities for enhancement, leading to evidence-based optimization tactics.
  • Continuously improve CRO processes and refine our CRO best practices, leveraging the latest methodologies and technologies.
  • Knowledge of optimizing the entire conversion funnel, from user acquisition to retention, and identifying key friction points that hinder conversion

A/B and Multivariate Testing:

  • Develop and implement A/B and multivariate tests across various website components including landing pages, forms, and calls-to-action, to discern the most effective variations that boost conversions.

User Experience (UX) and Content Optimization:

  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers and developers to refine user experience, ensuring a seamless and persuasive journey conducive to visitor conversions.
  • Optimize website content, encompassing copywriting, imagery, and multimedia elements, to craft compelling and persuasive material that motivates visitor action.

Mobile & Landing Page Optimization:

  • Ensure full responsiveness and optimization of the website for mobile devices, resulting in enhanced conversion rates for mobile users.
  • Design and deploy high-converting landing pages aligned with specific marketing campaigns, encouraging visitor engagement and action.

Tracking and Reporting:

  • Implement tracking and monitoring tools to gauge the impact of optimization efforts, furnishing insights into conversion rate enhancements and areas for further refinement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, delivering regular reports on CRO performance, encompassing key metrics, test outcomes, and actionable recommendations for improvement.

Technical Competencies:

  • User Research: Proficiency in conducting user research to understand customer behavior, preferences, and pain points. This includes the ability to use various research methods such as surveys, interviews, A/B testing, and heatmaps.
  • Hypothesis Development: Skill in building clear and testable hypotheses based on user research and data analysis. This involves formulating assumptions about what changes or optimizations will lead to improved conversion rates.
  • Backlog Management & Prioritization: Expertise in managing a backlog of CRO initiatives and prioritizing them based on factors such as potential impact, resource availability, and alignment with business goals.
  • Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills to analyze user data, website traffic, and conversion funnel performance. This includes the ability to use analytics tools like Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar platforms.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and tools that facilitate CRO efforts, such as Optimizely, VWO, or Google Optimize.
  • Conversion Funnel Optimization: Knowledge of optimizing the entire conversion funnel, from user acquisition to retention, and identifying key friction points that hinder conversion.

  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, explain CRO strategies, and share insights with stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify barriers to conversion and devise creative solutions to improve the user experience.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail in analyzing data, tracking user behavior, and ensuring accurate implementation of CRO experiments.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with designers, developers, marketers, and other team members to implement CRO initiatives effectively. Desire to coach others to become CRO subject matter experts.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Skill in documenting CRO strategies, test results, and best practices for future reference. Ability to establish robust knowledge sharing processes across teams.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changes in technology, user behavior, and industry trends to keep CRO strategies effective and up-to-date.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: A strong customer-focused approach to understand and empathize with user needs, aiming to enhance the overall user experience.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple CRO projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Marketing, Digital Marketing, UX/UI Design).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) or a Performance Marketing related role.
  • Proven track record of improving website conversion rates and driving results.
  • Experience with CRO tools and platforms.
  • Strong understanding of web analytics and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Relevant certifications in CRO or digital marketing are a plus.
