Here’s what you’ll do

  • Lead and guide a team of ML engineers
  • Facilitate cross-team communication with teams that the ML team depends on, as well as teams that depend on the ML team (such as product/app, data, data QA, and ML platform/ops)
  • Provide regular training and mentorship to all team members
  • Conduct performance evaluations and create effective development plans
  • Participate in the hiring process and develop hiring plans based on business needs and team capacity
  • Work with the product management team to define projects and develop the roadmap
  • Collaborate with and mentor other engineering leaders to ensure alignment with Microblink's core values and technical direction
  • Invest in developing processes and tools that enhance team efficiency and productivity
  • Stay updated on industry and technology trends, continuously improving the team’s tools and engineering practices

You'll be successful in this role if you have

  • Experience in researching, developing, experimenting with, and bringing ML-based projects to production
  • Previous senior or lead ML engineer experience in an individual contributor role
  • Experience with data annotation pipelines and data analysis
  • A proven track record of managing and leading ML and engineering teams, preferably cross-functional teams
  • Experience with software product lifecycle management 
  • Experience in growing and leading engineering teams, including recruiting,  performance management, professional and personal development
  • Experience working in a product-centric scale-up environment
  • Experience working in a global environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly and concisely convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and leadership at all levels
  • A willingness to work across EST and CET time zones occasionally

A plus is if you also have any of the following: 

  • Development of custom, inference-optimized ML model architectures
  • Experience with both CV and NLP
  • Experience with data extraction pipelines based on ML
  • Experience with deployment and monitoring of ML models
